Vineyards and vines
Location: Surrounding the hilltop town of Vilalba dels Arcs, around 450m above sea level.
Varieties: Garnacha 55%, Cariñena 40%, Cabernet Sauvignon 5%.
Vine age: Old vines - 25 years and above for Garnacha and Cariñena.
Selection: Selection of best hillside vineyards, based on optimum age, height, health and maturity of vines.

Harvesting
Harvesting is in September, when maturation conditions are at their best. Grapes are picked by hand and transported to the winery for quality control, ensuring they are intact and healthy on arrival and in optimum condition for winemaking.

Winemaking
Grape varieties are vinified seperately, with temperature controlled fermentation at 26 to 28º C. They remain in their vats for a further 18 to 20 days, giving good wine colour and polyphenolic content.

Ageing
The wine is aged in new and second year French and American oak barrels for 14 months before bottling.

Tasting notes
Colour: Intense cherry colour with violet undertones.
Nose: Complex, elegant nose of fully ripe dark fruits with vanilla and spice notes.
Taste: Taste of dark fruits with liquorice and mineral notes, excellent depth and balance.Good structure with well integrated tannins, and a long, smooth finish.

This wine will develop well over the next 4 to 5 years. It should be served at a temperature of around 17 to 18 ºC.
